This is a bit late (my apologies), and I’m sure you all already know, but with the great success of Twilight at the box office, Summit immediately turned on the green light for New Moon. Here is part of the official press release:

SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES TWILIGHT SEQUEL – NEW MOON

Los Angeles, CA November 22, 2008 — Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of NEW MOON, the second installment of its filmed franchise TWILIGHT, the action-packed, modern day vampire love story. The movie will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series titled, New Moon. The first movie in the TWILIGHT franchise, the self-titled TWILIGHT, arrived in theaters this weekend to sold-out showings.

Who else is excited to see Jasper attack Bella? And Alice in Italy? New Moon is going to be amazing! :)

But I think that for a movie it takes something more visual… I mean, I love the intensity of their love which needs no words or physical expressions, but a kiss is absolutely necessary when they meet at the airport after Volterra!!

Personally, I don’t think they should kiss. Yes, I would LOVE to see them kiss, but I feel like it would ruin the dynamic of their relationship….which isn’t about showy affection.

I’m looking forward to the birthday party, the werewolves (and how they’re handled), Volterra in general (Johnny Depp a la Willy Wonka = Aro, in my mind), and the AIRPORT SCENE OF WONDERFULNESS.
